AMD has surprisingly added a new CPU to the Athlon 64 lineup. It's called the X2 5000+ Black Edition and is more than just another 5000+.
AMD is said to be readying the launch of a new flagship dual-core processor before Phenom arrives later in the year.
Sources close to AMD have suggested that the company's future 45nm socket AM3 CPUs will work in current socket AM2 motherboards.
